The 2012 vintage of Pinot is a combination of clone 2A, 115, and 667 sourced from the Sta. Rita Hills near Santa Barbara. The wine is brought to the winery in refrigerated trucks, destemmed, and cold soaked for 4 to 5 days. The wine then begins a slow fermentation with the cap continually submerged in order to keep the skins in a constant contact with the wine. After pressing, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels for 9 months in barrel. This is a big and rich Pinot that makes a nice complement to the rich Chardonnay that we make. This is our third vintage of Pinot from this area, and we are excited to be able to share it with everyone.
