Tony-nominated producer Jacob Langfelder and Bonnie and Rob Lloyd of Lloyd Cellars toast to the announcement of the new Playbills & Platters dinner, and the 2023 Broadway and Vine summer music series line-up. Lloyd Cellars helps underwrite the series, which opens on June 27 with five-time Emmy-winner Tituss Burgess.

Rob Lloyd is Executive Winemaker for Jessup Cellars and Handwritten Wines. He will also be sharing his own Lloyd Cellars 2021 Carneros Chardonnay as well as his and his wife Bonnie’s passion for supporting rising star artists.

The Lloyd’s will be joined by Tony Award-nominated producer Jacob Langfelder, founder of Broadway and Vine, and feature a musical performance by emerging singer, songwriter, and actor, Abigail Choi Arader. Abigail starred in the all-Asian Off-Broadway production, Comfort Women: A New Musical, which won over critics and led her to win BroadwayWorld’s Best Actress in a Musical Award.  She has been seen in the HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl.

In partnership with Playbill, a vintage collection of Playbills will be on display as well as custom artwork by visual artist Cynthia Carey. A special thanks to Playbill magazine for its support!

Broadway & Vine invites you to an unforgettable evening pairing some of Napa Valley’s most beloved vintners with an intimate concert by Olivier Award Nominee Julian Ovenden.  Julian has built a reputation over the last two decades as a truly versatile performer in constant demand on stage and screen, in concert and in the recording studio.

Theatre work includes leading roles at the Donmar; the Almeida; the Theatre Royal Haymarket; the Young Vic; the RSC; the Roundabout in NYC, and in the West End and on Broadway. Recent stage work includes starring opposite Gillian Anderson in Ivo Van Hove’s All About Eve and playing Emile de Becque in the smash hit revival of South Pacific, directed by Daniel Evans at Chichester Festival and Sadler’s Wells for which he was nominated for the 2023 Olivier Award for Leading Actor in a Musical.

Julian has starred in many TV shows on both sides of the Atlantic, including Downton Abbey, Foyle’s War, Person of Interest, Any Human Heart, Knightfall, Smash, The Crown, The Sound of Music and Adult Material. Recent screen work includes the second season of Armando Ianucci’s Avenue 5 for HBO, the global hit Bridgerton for Netflix and Shonda Rimes, and The People You Hate At The Wedding for Amazon. Julian has just begun to film the second season of Trigger Point for ITV and Jed Mercurio.

Where the Best of Broadway Meets the Best of Wine Country

Broadway & Vine invites you to an unforgettable evening pairing some of Napa Valley’s most beloved vintners with an intimate concert by Erika Henningsen.  Erika is a Bay Area native and is most known for originating the starring role of Cady Heron in the hit, Tony-nominated musical, Mean Girls. She was reunited with Tina Fey when she went on to recur as Young Gloria on Peacock’s acclaimed series, Girls5Eva. Other theater credits include Fantine opposite Ramin Karimloo in the recent revival of Les Miserables. She originated the title role of Joy in the Broadway-bound musical adaptation, based on the life of Joy Managano, which premiered at the George Street Playhouse.

Other roles: Nellie Forbush in South Pacific & Sophie in Mamma Mia! (PCLO), Nina in the Dear World opposite Tyne Daly.  Her solo show, “Raise Your Standards” has played to sold out venues in New York City & San Francisco. Additional TV credits include CBS All Access’ Blue Bloods, HBO’s That Damn Michael Che and Tracy Oliver’s original comedy, Harlem, for Amazon. She can be heard as the leading voice actor in A24’s upcoming musical animation series, Hazbin Hotel.

Broadway & Vine kicks off the summer with an unforgettable evening pairing some of Napa Valley’s most beloved vintners with an intimate concert by Emmy and SAG Award-nominated actor, musician, and writer Tituss Burgess at Tre Posti in St. Helena. Featured wineries include Frog’s Leap, Lloyd Cellars, PÉJU, Prescription Vineyards, and more.

Tituss Burgess has quickly emerged as one of the entertainment industry’s most versatile and dynamic performers, with his work in television, film, and theater generating both critical and commercial acclaim. Tituss starred as ’Titus Andromedon’ in the hit Netflix comedy series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (nominations for four consecutive Emmy Awards, a SAG Award, and two Critics’ Choice TV Awards). He reprised his role in the Netflix interactive special Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend and was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor.

Abby Mueller recently completed her reign as Jane Seymour in the global hit Six: The Musical on Broadway.  Prior to that, she starred as Carole King in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical on Broadway and the First National Tour. Other New York credits include Kinky Boots on Broadway and the pre-Broadway workshop production of School of Rock.  Abby began her career in her hometown of Chicago, where some favorite credits include The Three Musketeers(Constance) at Chicago Shakespeare Theater; Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Milly) at Drury Lane Theatre; Brigadoon (Fiona), Into the Woods (Cinderella), and The Full Monty (Georgie) at Marriott Theatre.  She has also worked extensively regionally, including The Last 5 Years (Cathy), Les Misérables (Fantine), Miss Saigon (Ellen), Joseph…(Narrator)and 1776 (Abigail Adams)TV: “America’s Got Talent,” NBC; “The Today Show,” ABC.  Check out her Broadway.com Vlog “Yas, Queen!” on YouTube, and follow Abby on social media @abcmuell!

Sharon Kenny‘s music has been prominently featured both nationally and internationally on television, most notably with five placements on Lifetime’s hit show, Dance Moms.  Her song “Hotel Heart” reached #68 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts; her music has cumulatively garnered nearly 25 million views on YouTube.

Sharon’s theatre work has been commissioned and/or developed at New York Theatre Workshop, Manhattan Theatre Club, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Theatreworks Palo Alto, Yale Institute of Music Theatre, 92nd Street Y, and Stages Theatre Company.  She was recently commissioned to adapt the NY Times best-selling book “What Do You Do With an Idea?” for the stage, which will premiere in Minneapolis in the Spring of 2022.

Wine Country’s Newest Concert, Wine, and Culinary Event Series will bring Broadway Stars to Carneros Resort and Tre Posti’s Vineyard

Napa, CA (April 27, 2022)Broadway and Vine, intersecting the best of Broadway with the best of Wine Country opens its second season with Lea Michele (GLEE, Spring Awakening).  The Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee will make her Napa Valley performance debut at Carneros Resort’s Hilltop Vineyard on Tuesday, June 7th.  The monthly concert series will pair each Broadway performance with world class wine and culinary experiences in picturesque vineyard and resort settings.  Broadway and Vine, which was founded by Tony Award nominee Jacob Langfelder (Sea Wall/A Life), has a mission to provide mentorship, masterclass and performance opportunities for students and pre-professional performing artists. The exclusive events continue throughout the summer at Tre Posti Vineyards with Broadway stars Nasia Thomas (Caroline, or Change, Ain’t Too Proud: The Temptations Musical), Jelani Remy (Ain’t Too Proud, Disney’s The Lion King) along withEmmy Winner Lance Horne on July 11th, Natalie Tenenbaum (David Byrne’s American Utopia) and Ciara Renée (Disney’s Frozen, Waitress, Pippin, Big Fish) on August 10th and Abby Mueller (SIX, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Kinky Boots) with Sharon Kenny on September 20th.
